Measuring Neighborhood Reputation

Neighborhood reputations are important heuristics through which people view and understand the places around them. While recent studies highlight the existence and consequences of reputations for neighborhoods and their residents, little is known about how contemporary neighborhood reputation reflects a places long-term demographic and economic trends.

In 2018, I developed a unique online survey to examine the relationship between trajectories of neighborhood change and neighborhood reputation hierarchies in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington DC.
